Turkey recipe

What’s everyone’ favorite turkey recipe?

I hosted Friendsgiving this year and made turkey for the first time! It turned out really good. I used a NYTimes recipe with cider and White wine. I added butter to it since it didn’t call for any fat.

That sounds very delicious. We don't have thanksgiving in Sweden and turkey isn't consumed a lot in Sweden. I made turkey once and it turned out pretty good, I used this recipy, though it's written in Swedish.

Recipy translated to English

  • Turkey leg 1.5kg (roughly 3.3 pounds)
  • 2dl or 0.84 cups Lingonberry jam
  • 1.5 tablespoons Vinegar (acetum) 12%
  • 2 pressed garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper

  1. Season the turkey leg with salt and pepper. Mix the Ingredients to make a marinade and put the meat in the mixture. Let it marinate, the longer the better (preferably over night)

  2. Turn on the oven, 125 celcius or 257 fahrenheit. Put the meat in the oven and let it cook slowly, 2.5 hours or until the internal temperature of the meat is +70 celcius or +158 fahrenheit.

  3. Take the meat out of the oven and let it rest in aluminum foil before serving it.
