I found some hen in the supermarket today

I'm so happy. Today at the supermarket I found some whole hen in the freezer.

Hen is a much more flavourful meat than chicken but it's tougher meat. But since I normally slowcook chicken that won't be such a big problem for me.

It's cheap too since the hen is normally discarded after it dies instead of used for food.

Hopefully I will be able to publish some great recipies soon.

Oh, and my mom will be so envious. She misses the time when you could buy hen in her store.

I'm confused about what the difference is between hen and chicken? I thought a hen was a female chicken.

I don't think I have ever seen hen sold either! Is the taste still similar to chicken?

It really shows I know very little about where how and when my meat is produced, I think I should definitely look into it more.

So now are the hens in the pot. I didn't really have a big enough pot for both of them but I plan on turning them after a while andbreaking them in the joints when they are tender enough
