Baking in all forms

Semlor for Fat Tuesday

Did you celebrate Fat Tuesday? In Sweden, we call it fettisdagen! I went to my favorite bakery in Stockholm, called Brot, located near odenplan.

What’s great is that they offer tapas bakery items, meaning they have super mini sweets of all your favorites.

They had mini, medium and large semlors. I took one medium one for today and two mini ones for tomorrow for me and my boyfriend.

I didn't get a semla this year. 🙁

In Härnösand there's an old gas station that has branched out to baking bread and pastries. Their semlor are so famous that last year's fat Tuesday they made over 7000 of them. This year the goal was 10000. Apparently they were six people there baking. People come from all over. I heard that a neighboring city had pre-ordered 1000. 🙂

Apparently, I lied. Yesterday Åsa bought semlor so I had one after all. 🙂

Yes! I Should have bothered to make hot milk to have it with, but I didn't. That was a mistake. It would have made it even better. 🙂
